The declining interest in specializing in General and Family Medicine (MGyF) in Argentina presents significant challenges for the health system and the development of healthcare professionals. This study analyzes the MGyF specialization program at the National University of Córdoba to explore these trends and their implications. The program aims to strengthen the comprehensive training of specialists at the first level of care. An anonymous, semi-structured, self-administered survey was conducted among 40 graduates from the 2016–2021 cohorts, complemented by institutional data analysis.
Findings indicate that the pedagogical approach—centered on situated learning, integration of teaching, care, and research, and practice in community settings—promotes the development of clinical, community-based, ethical, and interprofessional competencies.
