The COVID-19 pandemic significantly impacted the working and subjective conditions of healthcare workers at all levels. This article specifically analyzes the case of primary healthcare workers in the Buenos Aires locality of Florencio Varela. Through surveys and interviews with professionals, technicians, and support staff from 16 community health centers, several risk factors were identified, such as low wages, lack of human and material resources, long working hours, work overload, and the perception of a lack of managerial support. On the other hand, the importance of intrinsic motivation and camaraderie as protective factors was also highlighted. The study concludes with a recommendation for interventions aimed at improving working conditions and promoting the mental health of these workers.
